About
Overview
The Problem
Many young strength training enthusiasts encounter challenges in staying motivated as they strive to make progress in their fitness journey. Despite their regular training efforts, it can be discouraging when they do not see tangible results. The financial constraint of being unable to afford personal training fees further complicates matters, as they lack access to professional strength training information and assistance with workout planning, so they have to spend a lot of time searching for the workout routines/programs that fit them the best. In addition to that, not being able to have a partner to workout with further impacts their ability to make consistent progress in their fitness journey as they feel not motivated sometimes.

How Might We
How might we provide workout planning assistance with intuitive progress-tracking and professional guidance to Gen Z to help them stay motivated and keep making progress in their fitness journey?
Primary Research

I conducted in-depth interviews with three Gen Zers and found that they were all, to varying degrees, troubled and helpless by the lack of fitness progress they were not continuing to make.
Look Into Competitors
We also investigated some of our competitors, such as the tools people use to exercise, track their diets and fitness journeys.

Takeaway
Through in-depth user interviews and generation-specific research, I learned what Gen Z users value the most in their fitness journey, which helped me design more user-centric features for the fitness app.
By studying the trends that Gen Z is interested in, I was able to make better color choices to appeal to this group of users. Boldly experimenting with color combination allowed me to hone my skills in designing user interfaces. I learned how to combine color and functionality to provide users with a more dynamic sense of use and motivate them on their fitness journey.
